Bush Poetry Awards & Experience

Carol regularly competes in many bush poetry competitions, (that’s when she’s not judging them!), and has won many awards for both her performance and written work.

Apart from her performing and judging, Carol has had extensive experience in the bush poetry movement. She is a former vice–president of the Australian Bush Poets Association. In addition to this she is actively involved in the ARVO’s, a Melbourne based bush poetry group. Carol is also actively involved in supporting the Central Goldfields Bush Poets, who are based in Bendigo, whenever she gets the opportunity to travel.

• Carol has been NSW Ladies Champion Poet
• Runner Up, "Traditional" Poet, Australian Bush Poetry Championships Mulwala
• Finalist in the Australian Bush Poetry Association's Championships in Mulwala, NSW.
• Winner, 2005 SA Stumpy Awards
• Overall Champion Poet Millmerren Q.
• Finalist, North Pine, Queensland.
• Finalist in Australian National Championships, Winton on both times she entered
• Winner of several Poets Brawls (one minute competitions)
• Judge, Compere and all-round facilitator of poetry events Australia-wide.
